Academic Qualifications from Other Canadian Provinces or the USA
Academic standing from other provinces and other countries recognized by Seneca as equivalent to an OSSD will be considered for admission. Generally, the standards are:
- Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Quebec and Saskatchewan: a valid Secondary School Graduation Diploma at the General Level, or equivalent
- United States of America: Grade 12 (A minimum of 16 units of credit at the Secondary School level, at least four credits of which are in English)
- All other applicants will be considered on an individual basis
Degree programs may have additional requirements.
Academic Qualifications from Other Countries
Seneca will consider your application for admission if you have equivalent educational qualifications from another country. You need to apply through ontariocolleges.ca. On the application, be sure to list your studies from abroad, and send your transcripts/certificates/diplomas to ontariocolleges.ca. If you have studied English in Canada or taken any ESL (TOEFL or IELTS) tests, send the results to ontariocolleges.ca, following the instructions on the website. If you haven't taken any TOEFL or IELTS test or studied English in Canada, we will schedule you for English proficiency testing at Seneca - see English Proficiency for more information.
