Program Description

Earn your wings. Today's flight attendants are highly trained, highly skilled and focus on safety as the core of their job function. The Flight Services: Operations and Cabin Management diploma program encourages you to develop career-related skills, knowledge and behaviours to effectively perform a variety of functions required in providing passenger safety and exceptional customer service as you work in the airline industry. Airline travel is business and emphasis is placed on developing a service-driven attitude to service customers while effectively handling the diverse range of safety related duties on the ground and in-flight. Prior to graduation and launching your professional career you’ll have an opportunity to obtain your Seneca College Wings at the Annual Wing Pinning Ceremony.

Seneca is continually finding new ways of introducing current business technologies into its programming. Starting in September 2017, as a new student in the Flight Services – Operations and Cabin Management Diploma program you'll lighten your book load. Flight Services courses will now be offered digitally and course materials delivered via Apple's iPad. You'll benefit from relevant and engaging course content that promotes collaboration and conversation to ensure you're always learning ahead of the curve. If you already have an iPad that's great, it must be 4th generation or later with iOS 8 or higher with at least 2GB of space to accommodate course materials. If you don't, don't worry you can purchase one directly through Seneca's Apple affiliate site and get an education discount. Get ahead at Seneca.

Graduates from this program receive a Flight Services - Operations and Cabin Management Ontario College Diploma.

Studying and working in the Seneca uniform, will allow you to become practiced in formal, occupation-specific presentation and prepare you for the working world.* You’ll also benefit from 150 hours of valuable field placement work experience allowing you to network and build industry connections ahead of graduation.

*As a student in this program you will need to purchase a uniform and obtain industry certifications at a fee. These measures are vital to the program curriculum and contribute to your professional experience and success.

International Travel/Study Abroad

As a student in the  Flight Services: Operations and Cabin Management program you are eligible to apply to study abroad in your fourth semester at one of the following international institutions:

  • Federal Institute of Ceará (IFCE)  Forteleza, Brazil
  • Zulu Nyala Game Lodge - South Africa.
  • Les Roches International School of Hotel Management Switzerland
  • Select Mobile Intensive Learning Opportunities in the Caribbean, Europe, or Baltics.

Field Placement

As part of your program credit hours, you will complete 150 hours of field placement in the fourth semester. You will receive assistance from your professor, but it is your responsibility to confirm a placement upon successful completion of all third semester subjects before accepting a field placement position.

Admission Requirements

Program Eligibility:

  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent with:
    • Grade 12 English: ENG4(C) or ENG4(U)
  • OR Mature Student Status (age 19 or older) with the above prerequisite course(s), their equivalent(s) or appropriate Academic and Career Entrance (ACE) Certificate program credits (see Academic Upgrading).


  • Although not required for admission, the following are recommended for your success in the program:
    • Grade 11 French
    • Proficiency in a second language.

Transfer Credit/Pathways

The Degree and Credit Transfer Office provides a number of services for students continuing their education at Seneca, and for graduating students considering degree transfer options.

Through transfer agreements and institution partnerships, graduates of this Seneca College program may be eligible for credit at various post-secondary institutions. Please refer to the Degree Transfer Guide for more information.

Transfer Credit may be granted for courses deemed equivalent to courses at Seneca that have been completed at recognized postsecondary institutions. Additional information is available online.
